Water Extraction
Sudden water releases such as a burst pipe, a large spill or sudden area flooding should be taken care of immediately. MBM provides 24 hour emergency water extraction. If wet/flooded areas are taken care of within 12 to 24 hours, mold is extremely unlikely to become a problem.
But after 48 hours microbial growth can start. MBM is certified in mold remediation, but it is always highly recommended to take care of wet areas as quickly as possible. If wet / flooded areas are the result of the sewer, bayou or other contaminated water source, microbial remediation would be required regardless; however, timing is still a huge factor and the quicker an area is dried and treated the safer and healthier all will be. With issues such as water extraction, restoration, and microbial remediation (identification and removal of molds, mildew, fungis, etc.), you need to know you are using the best trained and, therefore, most qualified company. New technological advents in water extraction and restoration industry have led to an increasing number of companies in the field. The variety can make it difficult for consumers to be certain the company they contract with doesn't take them to the "cleaners." That's one reason experts suggest only working with businesses certified by organizations such as the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). This group helps consumers choose services ranging from water extraction to carpet cleaning to mold and microbial remediation. More than 30 years old, the IICRC is a nonprofit certification body founded to set standards for the inspection, cleaning and restoration service industries. IICRC certified firms must show proof of insurance, provide ongoing education for their workers and stay active in their industry by attending seminars, workshops and conventions. |
